Sawnee EMC offers a rebate for upgrading your Heat Pump or Air Conditioning Unit to a Higher Seer 2 level than required by Code. Members may be eligible for a rebate for the installation of an Air Source Heat Pump or Air Conditioner with an outside unit with an AHRI rating of 17.0 SEER/16.2 SEER2 or higher as a replacement or a new addition. Participation in Load Management or Smart Savers is required to qualify.
$100 per ton, may be issued for the installation of a 16.2 SEER 2 Heat Pump or Air Conditioning unit if the following requirements are met:
- You must enroll in one of Sawnee EMC’s Load Management programs, either Smart Savers with your Thermostat, or traditional Load Management and remain enrolled for a minimum of 12 months.
- The system must be purchased and installed in the present year
- Must be new equipment.
- A replacement cannot be part of a warranty claim.
- Portable AC units or second-hand units do not qualify for rebate
- The Units must be AHRI certified
- The following required documents are submitted:
- Receipt for the purchase of the 16.2 SEER 2 system showing the model numbers
- AHRI Certificate of Product Ratings sheet showing the SEER 2 rating of your specific equipment (Example Certificate)
- A Sawnee EMC Representative shall visually verify the unit after required documents are received.

A Sawnee EMC Representative may contact you with any questions or to schedule an onsite confirmation visit. Must be enrolled in either Smart Savers, or Load Management before rebate can be applied. Generally, once the application is processed, your credit will appear within 1-2 billing cycles on your billing statement.
